Over the past six months the Academic Calendar Project has listened to staff and students across the university through an extensive consultation process.

The project team has engaged with schools and working groups, convened staff Town Hall Q&A sessions, collected online staff feedback, held six staff consultation sessions and collected more than 5000 student survey responses.

We greatly appreciate the insights shared about your experiences with the current calendar and perspectives on the models being proposed. Feedback included:

• discussions around timing and lengths of breaks across the year
• strengths and weaknesses of different term lengths for learning and focus
• success factors for internships, work integrated learning and clerkships under each calendar
• administrative challenges for staff and students
• discussions around methods and timings for assessments and exams
• factors that influenced staff and student wellbeing
• support that would be needed for success under each calendar models

Your voices and your experiences are crucial to this process and your engagement with the consultation has ensured the incredible diversity of perspectives across UNSW will inform and guide our decision-making process.
