Dr. Aziz is a Research Associate at the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering and Safety (CIES), School of Civil and Environmental, UNSW Sydney. Prior to his appointment, he worked as a Lecturer at Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Bangladesh for 3 years. At UNSW, Aziz collaborates with industries to carry out research projects with an aim to develop manufactured concrete products with low carbon footprints that can be accommodated within current construction practices. His research interests include sustainable construction materials, alkali-activated binders, recycled concrete components, reactive aggregates, durability of cementitious composites, etc. He is currently working on green-composites for precast and pavement applications.
