I am a postdoctoral fellow interested in the intersections between artificial intelligence, digital media and literature. In my PhD thesis, I explored the poetics unique to machine written texts, and how they forecast a future of AI-penned literature. I have also researched and taught in game design, Australian and digital media, online cultures, copyright law, and digital writing. Over the years I have kept a creative practice as a narrative designer for videogames, musician and journalist. Currently, I am working with the EPICentre at UNSW on tools for narrative visualisation.

Media

My most recent research output has focused on literature written by artificial intelligence, as well as the consequences of Twitterbots and other social bots to society and online discourse. Predominantly, I have investigated these questions through an interdisciplinary approach that borrows from media and game studies, literary studies and computer science. My current research is focused on narrative visualisation and storytelling.
