Identifying and restoring microbial-mediated disease resistance in marine macroalgae

I am interested in host-microbial symbiosis and its impact on the host fitness. My PhD project aims to identify the beneficial interactions between a model marine macroalga Delisea pulchra and its associated bacterial communities, investigating that to what extent could beneficial bacteria contribute to the host disease resistance. This project will provide insights in the potential of microbial manipulation in marine ecosystems.
