Dr. Jiong Yang is now a postdoctoral Research Associate under the supervision of Prof Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh in School of Chemical Engineering at University of New South Wales. He received his Bachelor’s degree in materials sciences from the Fudan University, China, and got his Ph.D. degree from Research School of Engineering, the Australian National University. 

His research interests include two-dimensional materials, liquid metals, nanophotonics, and device fabrication and characterization. He is currently working on phonon-polaritons (PhP) in hyperbolic materials by using near-field imaging and spectroscopy (s-SNOM), their structural and dielectric environment engineering, and PhP-based optoelectronic devices/systems.
