The "character in his pen": Thomas Chatterton's creative style

Supervisors

Summary

Kate's research comprises a critical recovery of Thomas Chatterton's unique creative style in his textual, visual and material works. His style expresses emergent contexts of eighteenth-century Georgian literary sociability, as well as the ambition and insecurity that fueled the push for cultural change by the creative underclasses of the period.
