Dr Richard Mellor is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Drug Policy Modelling Program (DPMP) at the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC). Richard completed his PhD in 2020 with DPMP at UNSW. This was a mixed-methods thesis examining understandings and experiences of alcohol problem resolution within and outside the alcohol treatment system. At DPMP, Richard has worked with a number of jurisdictions and peak bodies to update and adapt the Drug and Alcohol Services Planning Model (DASPM) to provide more contemporary planning figures and contribute to better distribution of treatment resources and improved access for those who seek alcohol or other drug treatment. Richard is also involved in a project exploring policy processes and the role of participation in drugs policy.
