As an international student you may want personal assistance in settling into your new life at UNSW. Or you may need advice on study or personal matters during your time at UNSW. The role of International Student Services (ISS) is to provide such advice and support when required.

Some of the services provided by ISS include:

  • Airport reception and temporary accommodation booking service


  • International Student Housing Assistance


  • Comprehensive orientation program


  • Individual confidential assistance on personal well-being and academic matters


  • Information on practical matters related to study, immigration, employment and finances


  • Partners programs for dependents of students


  • Day trips and shorts holidays


  • Social and cultural activities


  • Community exchange and support programs such as Australian Hospitality, International Speakers and Volunteering activities


  • Regular IS Update information bulletins


  • is-forum mailing list


  • Student lounge with free internet access and group meeting facility


  • Advocacy on behalf of students and representation of international students' concerns, both on and off campus


  • Referral to other specialist services/resources


  • Support services for AusAID sponsored students


  • Returning home seminars, career workshops and Valedictory function
