Sometimes, even bright and committed students don’t get the HSC results they were hoping for. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t study the degree you want. We have a number of alternate pathways to help you get where you’re determined to go.

Indigenous Pre-Programs
If you are an Indigenous or Torres Strait Islander there are a number of pre-programs in the areas of Business, Law, Medicine and Social Work. Visit the Nura Gili Pre-Programs page for more information: nuragili.unsw.edu.au/pre-programs
Internal Program Transfer
Maybe you didn’t get it right when you chose your degree or maybe you didn’t get into the degree you wanted to do in the first place. Either way, if you would like to change the UNSW degree you’re currently studying, then you can apply for an internal transfer. For more info unsw.edu.au/ipt
UNSW Prep (UNSW Preparation Program 17-19)
Life isn’t always easy. If circumstances beyond your control have come in between you and an ATAR that reflects your potential, you may be eligible for UNSW Prep. You will need to be eligible for the ACCESS scheme or for entry through Nura Gili to compete for a UNSW Prep place.
