UNSW Global

The UNSW Institute of Languages offers a comprehensive range of language programs, including: English for Academic Purposes for students with a conditional offer of admission to UNSW; general and specialised English language courses for international students, migrants and employees of UNSW; courses in Asian, European and Middle Eastern languages; and Language Teacher Education courses. Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets
The Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM) at the University of New South Wales undertakes interdisciplinary research in the design, analysis and performance monitoring of energy and environmental markets. CEEM hosts a regular series of seminars and workshops.

Centre for Social Impact
CSI courses deal with a wide range of areas of importance in the field of social impact including social enterprise and social innovation, values management, corporate responsibility and sustainability, volunteering, ethics, collaborative leadership and strategy. They are led by the best Australian presenters and a number of top international academics. The Centre offers executive programs in Melbourne, Sydney and other capital cities.

Arc

Employability and Life Skills Courses
Arc provides a selection of affordable, vocationally-oriented programs that enable students to enhance their employability during their time at uni. Examples of courses include Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Course, Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) Course and St Johns Senior First Aid Course.

Arts and Social Sciences

GERRIC Gifted Education Research, Resource and Information Centre
GERRIC, purpose is to meet the educational, social and emotional needs of gifted children and adolescents by conducting and fostering research and by providing services to these children, their families and schools.

  • For gifted students
    GERRIC programs feature two-day workshops for students aged 4 to 16 from a wide range of disciplines presented by teachers with post-graduate training qualifications in gifted education; university academics or those who are considered experts in their field. Workshop content is both rigorous and challenging – designed to stimulate the interests and curiosity of the academically gifted.
  • For parents
    Information courses are also run for parents of gifted children designed to equip parents with both theoretical and practical knowledge about their gifted child.
  • For educators
    Since 1991, more than 60 New South Wales teachers have completed postgraduate degrees specialising in gifted education, and more than 600 teachers from every Australian state, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Vanuatu have successfully completed the UNSW Certificate of Gifted Education program.

UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy

UNSW Canberra at ADFA provides a variety of short courses that cater for a wide range of needs suitable for participants from the Public Services (including Defence), corporate sector and general community.

CISCO Certified Networking Courses
The School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications has entered into a partnership with Cisco Systems to become a certified Cisco Networking Local Academy and offers courses to become qualified as an industry recognised Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets
The Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM) at the University of New South Wales undertakes interdisciplinary research in the design, analysis and performance monitoring of energy and environmental markets. CEEM hosts a regular series of seminars and workshops.

School of Petroleum Engineering
The School of Petroleum Engineering presents a range of industry short courses that cover the full spectrum of upstream oil and gas exploration and production activities. The School has experience in conducting individual short training courses for the general public and in-house courses for oil and gas companies, government departments and financial institutions including integrated short course programmes of several months' duration, and on-the-job training.

School of Computer Science and Engineering
UNSW Computing has developed specialised robotic workshops for both school students and school teachers. They focus on the use of the new Lego NXT; technology combined with the popular RoboCup; Junior competition for schools.

School of Mining Engineering
The School of Mining Engineering offers a variety of short courses for people employed in the mining industry who wish to pursue further opportunities in mining but need the knowledge base (and/or the qualifications) to achieve that goal. The courses are recognised by the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy as enhancing professional excellence in enabling Chartered Professional status to be obtained or maintained.

Law

Centre for Continuing Legal Education
The Centre for Continuing Legal Education provides short courses for lawyers, accountants, financial planners, executives, and other professionals whose work demands up-to-date knowledge of, and skills in relevant areas.

Science

Department of Aviation
The Department of Aviation offers short courses on Airline Occurrence Investigation and Rail Safety Investigation for those involved in safety management and investigation. They also offer a range of distance learning courses.

Sport and Recreation Centre

Recreational Courses
UNSW Sport and Recreation offer a range of recreational courses designed to teach the basic skills in a certain activity and provide an opportunity for people of all fitness levels to get active and have fun. Courses run from one day to several weeks.
