INTRODUCTION Non Award enrolment refers to all enrolments in courses or a sequence of courses which do not lead to or count towards a formal award (e.g. degree or diploma) of the University of New South Wales. Non Award enrolments fall into two categories; voluntary and cross institutional. A Voluntary course enrolment is where the student is taking the course either out of interest, or to develop professional competence in an area of specialisation. Students enrolled in award programs sometimes simultaneously enrol voluntarily in courses additional to their award requirements. Tuition fees are set annually.
Cross Institutional enrolment is where a student enrols in a course at UNSW for credit towards an award at another Australian tertiary institution in which the student is concurrently enrolled. Before an application for cross-institutional enrolment can be approved, the student must submit the home institution's written confirmation that the course/s applied for will be credited towards their degree. Local students also need to include details of their current fee status ie. Pre or Post 2005, Commonwealth Supported or Tuition Fee paying.
FEES AND CHARGES Local Students - Non Award Voluntary Tuition fees are payable for all Non Award voluntary course enrolments and are charged by unit of credit (UOC) according to the classification of the course/s. Please refer to the Fees section of myUNSW. Local Students - Cross Institutional If you are enrolled as a pre or post 2005 Commonwealth Supported Student at your home institution, you may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported enrolment at UNSW. If applicable, you will be required to submit (with your application) evidence of your pre or post 2005 Commonwealth Supported Student status at your home institution. For information regarding Commonwealth Support and Assistance please see the Fees section of myUNSW. If you are enrolled as a Domestic Fee-paying student at your home institution you will be charged tuition fees for your cross institutional enrolment at UNSW. Information regarding tuition fees for study at UNSW can be found in the Fees section of myUNSW. International Students - Non Award Voluntary or Cross Institutional UNSW provides a limited number of places for international students to study on a Non Award basis. Specific details may be obtained by contacting the Non Award Admissions Team by telephone on +61 2 9385 3228 or by e-mail. International students are liable for tuition fees for all Non Award enrolment in courses. This is irrespective of whether or not they are concurrently enrolled in an award program at the University. All students required to hold a student visa or other temporary visa for residence in Australia are deemed to be 'International' students for the purpose of determining tuition fees for Non Award enrolments. Tuition fees are charged by unit of credit (UOC) according to the classification of the course/s. Please refer to the Fees section of myUNSW.
