Monika Cvitanovic is an artist, educator and a current PhD candidate.

Her research develops methodologies for revisiting embodied knowledge of craft processes to revitalise the devalued histories of women’s textile-based labour and is underpinned by a feminist ethics of care. Her focus upon textiles is motivated by both their association with the histories of women’s reproductive and paid work and her preoccupation with material circulation.

Monika also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours 1st Class) at UNSW Art & Design, Australia (2021) and a Master of History and Teaching at the University of Zagreb, Croatia (2013).

She has been exhibiting for over ten years and has an extensive experience in developing and facilitating educational art programs for both children and adults. She currently works at UNSW as a Student Experience Ambassador, engaging with students who are transitioning to university, as well as a Study Skills Support Mentor, assisting students who have educational adjustments to reach their academic goals.
