The School of Physics Prizegiving Ceremony for 2023 prizewinners was held on Tuesday 19th March in the School of Physics meeting room in Old Main Building. The Prizegiving Ceremony is an annual event that the School of Physics holds in Term 1 every year to acknowledge and congratulate the previous year’s prizewinners.

This week’s event was attended by the prizewinners and guests, as well as key staff from the School of Physics and UNSW, including the Head of School Susan Coppersmith, and Dean of Science Sven Rogge.

The 2023 Winners were:

  • Marko Beaconin - The Australian Institute of Physics Prize
  • Elisa Ho - The Gordon and Mabel Godfrey Prize in Theoretical Physics 3
  • Marcus Borszcz - The Gordon and Mabel Godfrey Prize in Theoretical Physics 3; and School of Physics Prize in Experimental Physics
  • Valerii Radchenkov - The Physics Staff Prize for Physics 2
  • Nina Kesby - The BL Turtle Memorial Astrophysics Prize
  • Finn Pal - The Head of School's Prize in Physics
  • Jonathan Wendoloski - The Gordon and Mabel Godfrey Award in Theoretical Physics 4
  • Felix Lempriere - The Physics Staff Prize for Honours
  • Esther Nelson - The Physics Staff Prize for Physics 1
  • Alexander Fan - The First Year Director's Prize
