Expertise

Ms Douglas completed a Masters in Genetic Counselling from UTS in 2020, and since then has been working as a clinical cancer genetic counsellor. She has expertise in assessing family history or molecular profiling reports for potential heritable cancer predisposition, identifying appropriate genetic tests for each patient and interpreting genetic test results. Practicing patient-centred care, she is actively involved in navigating patients and families through all aspects of cancer genetics care, making complex information accessible and ensuring informed decision making. She works with patients and their families to understand and advocate for their needs and her consultations provide patients and their families with time and a safe space for reflection and discussion.
