IFMOP 2027
We invite you to London in 2027 for the International Research Forum on Multi-Owned Properties, hosted by UNSW City Futures Research Centre and UCL Faculty of Laws
The International Research Forum on Multi-Owned Properties brings together researchers from around the world to share work on multi-owned properties, including condominium, strata property, common interest developments, housing cooperatives, and homeowner associations.
Organised by the UNSW City Futures Research Centre (UNSW) and UCL Faculty of Laws, the Forum includes two days of meetings at University College London (London, England) and a field trip. The conference will run from Monday 19 April until Wednesday 21 April 2027.
This is the 9th edition of IFMOP after the successful editions in South Africa, Canada, Spain and Australia.

Keynote speaker announced
We're very pleased to announce our keynote speaker for the 2027 Forum: Emeritus Professor Susan Bright of Oxford University.
Call for abstracts
The format of the forum is designed to encourage collective engagement and relationship-building. The forum doesn't involve parallel sessions; selected papers will be presented in-person to the entire group, with longer slots allocated to allow for a presentation followed by substantive group discussion. For this reason, only a limited number of participants are selected to present alongside our keynote speaker.
We invite interested presenters to submit a paper proposal on any research topic related to multi-owned properties. We also welcome attendance from interested participants who don't wish to present but would like to join in the discussions.
Discipline and field of research areas may include but are not limited to: architecture; construction; design; economics; environmental science; geography; law; management; planning; property and real estate; sociology.
We welcome proposals from academics and practitioners, with priority given to papers drawing on the findings of systematic research. We encourage presentations from postgraduate students and early career researchers, as well as more established researchers.
If you would like to present, please submit an abstract of no longer than 250 words by 19 October 2026 to Hazel Easthope at hazel.easthope@unsw.edu.au.
Global south scholarship
There will be a scholarship available for one presenter from the Global South to support conference registration and travel, sponsored by Michael Teys Strata Advisory. The award decision will be based on the quality of the title and abstract.

Conference venue & accommodation
The Conference will be held at Bentham House, 4-8 Endsleigh Gardens, London.
There are many nearby hotels. The venue is also close to Euston Train Station, and accessible from many parts of London by train.
