AEROBATIC DISPLAY
The Pilatus PC-21 is the world’s most advanced pilot training aircraft. The PC-21 is based at RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria and RAAF Base Pearce in Western Australia the PC-21 is capable of sustained low-level speeds over 320 knots. Specialised technology can produce fighter-like rates of roll in excess of 200 degree per second.

RAAF FLYPAST
The C-130J Hercules is a medium-sized tactical air-lifter which can deliver cargo to airfields with short unsurfaced runways and airdrop cargo and paratroops by parachute. A fleet of 12 C-130J-30 Hercules are operated from RAAF Base Richmond by No. 37 Squadron.

A systematic approach to conditioning develops a members physical strength and endurance and prepares them for tough and arduous situations they may encounter. Come and see a range of weapons being used in front line combat and some of the field equipment used by ADFA Midshipmen and Officer Cadets during their training.

Musical ensembles from the ADFA Band (Jazz Group, String Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble and Pipes & Drums) will keep you entertained throughout the day in the vicinity of the Cafe.

AUSTRALIAN CLEARANCE DIVERS
Clearance Divers work within a team to complete diving missions and operations to depths of up to 80 metres, from a ship or ashore. Diving operations could include neutralising and disposing underwater explosives, search missions, underwater engineering and maintenance, tactical operations and underwater demolitions.

NAVAL AVIATION PROSPECTS SCHEME (NAPS)
Fly the NAPS Flight Simulators and test your skills in the sky. NAPS latest Sims include Virtual Reality goggles for the pilot visuals, realistic helicopter controls, motion to add the feeling of flying and the latest in Flight Sim software that is as close to flying the real thing as possible for someone who isn’t a helicopter pilot.

Come and meet our friendly team of submariners at the Submariner Recruitment and Development Stand. You can take a tour on board a Collins Class submarine through our virtual reality experience and find out all about life on board Australia’s most strategic naval platform.

MARITIME GEOSPATIAL WARFARE UNIT
Meet the Navy’s Geospatial team of specialists Hydrographers, Meteorologists and Oceanographers. They are trained in capturing hydrographic Military Geospatial Information. Come and see the Fly Away Survey Kit, Terrestrial Surveying Equipment, Portable Weather Station and Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. Learn how the environment plays a critical role in all military operations.

Come and enjoy the Jazz Group of the Royal Australian Navy Band Sydney as it performs a variety of jazz standards and well-known songs from their extensive jazz songbook. The group is led by Leading Seaman Musician Andrew Crago on saxophone and will feature Petty Officer Musician Tracy Kennedy on vocals.

RAAF SIMULATORS
The Aviation Candidate Management Centre runs the Aviation Motivation Program to increase attraction and develop interest amongst young people towards a career in Officer Aviation in the Air Force. There are a range of Air Force careers available within Officer Aviation. Whether you want to fly, or control the mission from the ground or air, we have a job for you that is challenging, exciting and rewarding. Keep the skies safe as an Air Traffic Controller, search for submarines as a Maritime Patrol and Response Officer, or shape the battlespace as an Air Battle Manager. Our display includes an immersive flying experience in our state of the art virtual reality simulators, where you can fly the F/A-18F Super Hornet yourself! You can also interact with our Officer Aviation specialists, who can answer your questions and assist you through the flight simulator experience.

Diggerworks supports modernising the individual combatants system through innovation and integration efforts. Diggerworks leverage engagement with the end users, and key partners, including Defence industry, capability managers (Navy, Army and Air Force), research and development institutions and other nations. Diggerworks is a uniquely positioned organisation consisting of operationally experienced military members, engineers, project managers and specialist advisers.

Special Operations are military activities conducted by specially designated, organised, trained and equipped forces using operational techniques and modes of employment not standard to conventional forces. Special Operations are highly specialised and focused operations, executed at the tactical level but designed to achieve wider operational and strategic effect.

Adventure and fun are the cornerstones of cadet activities. There are so many opportunities for a Cadet to participate in with the Australian Navy Cadets (ANC), such as International Exchange, The Young Endeavour, Navy Ship visits and so much more.

Experience Army training modernisation through operating an in-service F90 Steyr in virtual reality along with various other weapon types including trying your hand at a timed gallery shoot - come back to see if you can beat your time or set the record. See also our scheduled demonstrations of force-on-force tactical engagements on how these systems are used to enhance training.

Have you seen a 3D printer or Emotiv EPOC wireless neuroheadset? If not, pop down and see them and other cool equipment in action. The Navy’s Centre for Innovation (CFI) provides Defence personnel with the opportunity to be supported in their ideas.
