Engagement models
We collaborate and partner with others to solve problems through a number of different models.
Societal Impact Projects
Our impact projects are major, often multi-faceted collaborations with community, government, and industry partners. These projects have clearly defined problem statements, and a strong commitment to diverse and inclusive collaborative methods. These projects produce and facilitate teams that draw upon the expertise, experience, and knowledge from across UNSW, to co-create positive societal impact with partners, at scale and at pace.
Design Consultation & Collaborative Implementation
This engagement model represents a two-part process.
Stage One: Design Consultation
Describes a design research and consultation period with the partner, resulting in the provision of insights and recommendations for consideration.
Stage Two: Collaborative Implementation
Describes the prototyping, testing, and implementation of some or all of the recommendations made, in close collaboration with the partner.
Project Coaching Program
Our Project Coaching Program is designed to support existing project teams that have encountered a hurdle along their project journey. We offer coaching support customised to each unique project, including but not limited to problem reframing, design-led methodologies, project management, collaboration strategies, and administrative systems.
Systems Thinking and Design for Change
This engagement model describes a consultation and strategy process for problems that specifically require a systems thinking and visual communication approach. We work with partners to rethink and map systems for the purposes of positive change across products, services, and ways of working.
Work with us
The UNSW Innovation Hub tackles diverse problem-solving projects, varying in size, complexity and subject matter. We specialise in complex challenges that require collaboration, a design-led approach, and that can’t be addressed by a single discipline.
