CVMM Theme Sponsors UNSW Teams in Coastrek Twilight 2024!

The UNSW Cardiac, Vascular and Metabolic Medicine (CVMM) Theme is excited to support the Heart Foundation’s fight against heart disease. We are sponsoring the entry fees for 3 x UNSW affiliated teams to participate in this year’s Coastrek Twilight, covering a scenic 20km route through Sydney’s beautiful northern beaches.
What is Coastrek?
Coastrek is a series of team trekking and fundraising walks along spectacular coastal trails around Australia. Since the first event in 2009, Coastrek has transformed millions of lives globally. More than 70,000 trekkers have trained and completed Coastrek, improving their own health and wellbeing and raising over $48 million for their charity partners. The Heart Foundation is the current charity partner for Coastrek.

Start: Long Reef from approx. 12:00pm
Finish: Balgowlah Heights
Duration: Up to 6 Hours
Cost: Nothing. CVMM will sponsor the entry fees for 3 x UNSW affiliated teams (valued at $450 each).
What do I need to do?
Be quick! Team entries will be on a first-come basis. Email the names of all four team members (and your team name) to Stella Jun by 20th March 2024.
Your team must commit to fundraising at least $2,000 (that’s $500 per team member). Coastrek can help you with fundraising ideas and will give you access to online Facebook support groups. CVMM will also share your fundraising initiatives via appropriate UNSW channels to help boost your reach.
Rally your colleagues and put together a team of four people. Use it as time to collaborate, treat it as a walking incubator session, or make it a team building opportunity!
Get walking. Coastrek will provide you with a training programme to support your preparation for an endurance walk. Take lots of photos on the day so we can share your achievement on the CVMM website and @UNSW Medicine & Health’s social media channels. Grab a UNSW-sponsored cap on the day and walk the walk, spread CVMM vibes and show off your team spirit!
