The project on “Personal Information Assessment and Protection” is a Merit Winner at the NSW iAwards 2022 in the Technology Platform Solution category. UNSW, Sydney CSE faculty, and IFCYBER Member, Dr. Sushmita Ruj, was the project lead whilst working at Data61. She led a team of researchers and developers from the project's conception in July 2020 until January 2022, when she left Data61 to join UNSW. Personal Information Factor (PIF) was used by the NSW Government to analyse datasets; tracking the spread of COVID-19 and applying appropriate levels of protection before the data was released. The 870K AUD project is being funded by Cybersecurity CRC in partnership with the WA and NSW Governments.
