UNSW Institute for Cybersecurity's Rob Nicholls comments on potential credit card fraud, as a result of the Latitude Pay cyber incident.
UNSW Institute for Cyber Security lecturer, Rob Nicholls, raised concerns regarding the potential for an increase in credit card fraud as a result of the recent Latitude Pay cyber incident.
Latitude pay has almost 3 million customers, many who've used its services to shop in major chains like JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Apple. Reports to date indicate that more than 300,000 people have had their data stolen.
Rob Nicholls comments, "there is that risk for the credit card information combined with the personal information could allow credit card fraud on a very large scale, in a very short period of time."
