International Research Forum on Multi-Owned Properties 2026

The International Research Forum on Multi-Owned Properties brings together researchers from around the world to share work on multi-owned properties, including condominium, strata property, common interest developments, housing cooperatives, and homeowner associations.

Organised by the City Futures Research Centre (UNSW), this is the 8th edition of IFMOP after the successful editions in South Africa, Canada, Spain and Australia.

Conference program

The conference includes two full days of presentations and panels, evening social events, and a full day fieldtrip: view the Conference Program here

Keynote speaker announced

We're very pleased to announce our keynote speaker for the 2026 Forum: Professor Cathy Sherry of Macquarie University.

Call for abstracts

The call for abstracts has now closed.

The format of the forum is designed to encourage collective engagement and relationship-building. The forum doesn't involve parallel sessions; selected papers will be presented in-person to the entire group, with 40-minute slots allocated to allow for a presentation followed by substantive group discussion. For this reason, only a limited number of participants are selected to present alongside our keynote speaker.

We welcome attendance from interested participants who don't wish to present but would like to join in the discussions. Please note that in 2026 we'll not be providing the option of online attendance, so we do hope that you'll be able to join us in person.

Conference venue & accommodation

The Conference will be held at 10 Carrington Street, Sydney (in the Sydney CBD).

There are many nearby hotels. The venue is also close to Wynyard Train Station and Martin Place Metro Station, and accessible from many parts of Sydney by train or metro.

Registration
