This project aims to develop next-generation bio-integrated materials for energy harvesting applications. The successful candidate will develop and optimise organic solvent processing methods and chemical cross-linking/surface modification strategies for biopolymers, conduct systematic materials characterisation (chemical, structural, and mechanical), and perform long-term environmental stability and durability testing.

Working closely with a postdoctoral researcher, the student will receive comprehensive training in electrical characterisation techniques and gain expertise in analysing structure-property correlations in chemically modified biopolymers. This project offers hands-on training across biopolymer processing, surface modification, and electrical characterisation, and will build valuable national research capacity in the energy harvesting field.
