Building Australia’s Longevity Agenda
The 2026 Annual Research Symposium hosted by the UNSW Ageing Futures Institute will be held on Thursday 8 October 2026 (8:30am-12:15pm) at The Chancellery.
This year’s theme is 'Building Australia’s Longevity Agenda: From Research to Impact.' The Symposium is an excellent opportunity for Institute members, UNSW staff, students and colleagues to find out more about the latest ageing research happening across different UNSW Faculties, Schools and research groups.
This year’s program is structured around three interconnected themes of longevity:
- Sustainable Longevity – How income, housing, work, and economic security shape opportunities for healthy, equitable, and sustainable longevity in an ageing Australia.
- Healthy Longevity – Translating research into improved prevention, assessment, and care for healthier and more independent ageing.
- Purposeful Longevity – Enabling meaningful lives through participation, inclusion, reablement, and supportive technologies.
