John Purnell

John Purnell is the Lead Developer with the Intelligent Systems for State and Societal Resilience Hub (ISSSRH) based in the School of Systems and Computing at UNSW Canberra. John has over 30 years of experience in the development of software, software architecture and systems solutions for clients across defense, government, private industry and academia. John has experience creating and leading teams to excellence. He has extensive experience in a wide range of software fields including AI, Simulation, Communications, Decision Support in a range of domains including International Development, Capability, Logistics and Intelligence. He is committed to using leading edge technology to strengthen institutional and societal resilience in highly vulnerable and high risk states.
