UNSW HSK Centre runs HSK Full Course starting in February 2024 with an aim to enhance students' Chinese language skills to meet the globally recognized standards. We attempt to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the HSK exams and thrive in today's competitive job market. With a team of highly experienced and dedicated teaching and professional staff, UNSW HSK Centre ensures high-quality teaching by meticulously tailoring the HSK Courses to cater to the specific proficiency levels required for each tier of the HSK tests, and by leveraging exceptional resources UNSW has to offer to create an optimal environment for language learning so as to provide an unparalleled learning experience.

FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE FULL COURSES

HSK Full Course 1A

Course Fees: $20 per hour

Course Description and Learning Outcomes: This is the first half of HSK Level 1 courses. It is for complete beginners. By completing this course, students are expected to master the Pinyin system, some basic vocabulary and grammatical structures, and gain some simple conversation skills. We hope this first course will establish a robust foundation for sustained Chinese language learning.

HSK Full Course 1B 

Course Fees: $20 per hour

Course Description: 1B is the second half of HSK Leel 1 courses – It is the continuation of 1A.

By completing both HSK 1A & 1B courses students should be able to excel in HSK Level 1 Test.  These 2 courses aim to fully prepare students for the Test through various learning and practices, supplemented by mock tests. By the end of these 2 short courses students should be able to comprehend and utilize 150 fundamental Chinese words, understand basic structures of Chinese characters and rudimentary grammar, as well as simple everyday expressions.

HSK Full Course 2A

Course Fees: $20 per hour

Course Description and Learning Outcomes: 2A is the first of HSK Level 2 courses. This course is designed for students who have already completed level 1 courses or passed HSK level 1 test, or the equivalent (such as ARTS1450 offered by UNSW). By completing this course, students will have learned more commonly used words and more grammar expressions. Students are expected to understand and use words and sentences to communicate on common topics in everyday life.

HSK Full Course 2B

Course Fees: $20 per hour

Course Description: 2B is the second half of HSK Level 2 courses – It is the continuation of 2A

By completing both HSK 2A & 2B courses, students should be able to excel in HSK Level 2 Test. These 2 courses aim to fully prepare students for HSK level 2 test through various learning and practices, supplemented by mock tests. Upon completion of the courses, students are expected to have expanded their vocabulary to encompass 300 commonly used words, and more grammatical structures and sentence patterns. These linguistic skills should empower students to comprehend and articulate words and sentences in daily communication.

HSK Full Course 3A

Course Fees: $20 per hour

Course Description and Learning Outcomes: 3A is the first half of HSK Level 3 full courses. This course is designed for students who have completed HSK full couse level 2B or passed HSK level 2 test, or the equivalent (such as ARTS 1451 offered by UNSW). By completing this course, students will have expanded vocabulary and grammartical structures. The four language skills – listening , speaking, reading and writing- will be integrated in the teaching and learning to enhance students’ language competence.

HSK Full Course 3B

Course Fees: $20 per hour

Course Description: 3B is the second half of HSK Level 3 courses – It is the continuation of 3A

By completing both HSK 3A & 3B courses students should be able to challenge HSK Level 3 test.  

These 2 courses aim to fully prepare students for Level 3 Test through various learning and practices, supplemented by mock tests. Upon completion of the courses, students are expected to have increased the vocabulary to 600 words and have learned more grammatical structures, sentence patterns and idiomatic expressions. This level of proficiency will enable students to transfer their linguistic competence to communicative skills – using language appropriately in social and cultural contexts.
