Our mission

Our mission is to transform how engineering is practiced by integrating modelling, simulation, data analytics, and lifecycle data across the entire system development process. We aim to:

  • Advance Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to ensure cohesive modeling from design through to decommissioning.

  • Promote digital thread, enabling seamless data connectivity across all engineering stages.

  • Drive digital twin & AI adoption to enhance system performance, predictive analytics, and decision-making.

  • Foster workforce excellence through training, standards adoption, and community collaboration.

We support government, academia, and industry in accelerating innovation, bolstering digital resilience, and delivering capability rapidly and reliably.

FAQs

  • DE is an integrated engineering discipline that employs interconnected models (MBSE), real-time data, simulations (digital twins), and analytics to design, build, and operate complex systems efficiently.

  • Our resources serve engineers, students, researchers, government agencies, and industry partners involved in MBSE, digital twins, digital manufacturing, and AI-enhanced system development.

  • In addition to the Digital Engineering Body of Knowledge (DEBoK) maintained by the U.S. Department of Defense, several other reputable resources provide comprehensive insights into Digital Engineering practices:

    • Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK): A globally recognised, wiki-based collection of key knowledge sources and references for systems engineering.

    • Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation (DEM&S) Overview: A resource providing an overview of Digital Engineering and Modeling & Simulation practices, offering insights into their application and integration.
