Balquees is a visiting PhD student from Pakistan, where she earned a Gold Medal for her Master's degree in Biosciences. She is pursuing her PhD in Applied Biosciences at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan. Currently, She is engaged in UNSW as visiting research fellow. Her area of expertise is breast cancer research, in particular, investigating the role of Vitamin D and E in regulating the breast cancer tumour microenvironment. Her project seeks to elucidate the multifaceted roles played by these essential vitamins in the regulation of critical signalling pathways involved in crosstalk between cancer cells and stromal elements, with potential implications for advancing understanding of breast cancer pathophysiology and therapeutic interventions.
