Study and train with us

Build your research career where it counts.

Educator reading to child

Join a research group whose work changes how health systems care for children, and be supervised by leaders in paediatric population health, implementation science, health economics and epidemiology.

Training the next generation of child health researchers, clinicians and policy leaders is one of our core commitments. Our students and early career researchers work on real trials, real datasets and real policy questions, not hypothetical ones.

Higher degree research (PhD and Masters)

We supervise HDR students across the full breadth of our research program. You could evaluate an integrated care trial, analyse large scale linked administrative data, build the economic case for a new model of care, or co-design an intervention with families and clinicians.

Supervision expertise includes:

  • Child and adolescent population health and health services research
  • Implementation science and evaluation of complex interventions
  • Biostatistics, epidemiology and linked data analysis
  • Health economics and economic evaluation
  • Digital health and AI in child health
  • Qualitative, mixed methods and co-design approaches
  • Health equity, integrated care and youth mental health

Early career researchers

We support early career researchers to grow through mentorship, involvement in nationally funded programs, grant development experience and connections across our clinical, policy and community partner networks. Our team members have won national awards, secured competitive fellowships and moved into leadership roles across research and health services.

Student and trainee projects

We regularly host research projects for medical students (ILP and Honours), public health and health data science students, and clinicians seeking research experience. Projects are shaped around our current programs, so your work contributes to studies that are live in the health system.
