The primary aim is to enhance ionisation efficiency, analytical sensitivity, and robustness through improved source engineering and a deeper understanding of ionisation mechanisms under ambient conditions. By advancing these technologies, the research seeks to overcome matrix effects and enable reliable detection in heterogeneous materials.
The expected outcomes include the development of high-performance, field-deployable AMS platforms capable of rapid chemical detection, with different impactful applications such as forensic science, food safety, and environmental monitoring, ultimately supporting faster and more informed decision-making in real-world settings.
