The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) at UNSW Sydney is Australia’s leading research group in the alcohol and other drugs (AOD) sector.

In 2017, the Neuroscience, Mental Health and Addiction Theme was approved as a Maridulu Budyari Gumal - SPHERE Clinical Academic Group (CAG). NDARC’s Director, Professor Michael Farrell is CAG Leader. - National Drug Research Institute (NDRI)
Established in 1986, NDRI is based at Curtin University in Western Australia. NDARC collaborates with NDRI and NCETA on a bimonthly publication, Drug and Alcohol Research Connections. - National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA)
Established in 1992, NCETA is located within the School of Medicine at Flinders University in South Australia. NDARC collaborates with NCETA and NDRI on a bimonthly publication, Drug and Alcohol Research Connections. - National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED)
NCCRED is an innovative centre bringing together clinicians and researchers to detect and respond to trends in emerging drug health. NCCRED is made up of a consortium: NDARC, NCETA, NDRI, and St Vincent’s Health Australia. - The Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD)
Established in 1981, APSAD is the Asia Pacific's leading multidisciplinary organisation for professionals involved in the alcohol and other drug field. NDARC’s Director, Professor Michael Farrell is the immediate past President of APSAD. - The Alcohol and Other Drugs Knowledge Centre
Established by the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet in partnership with NDARC, NDRI, and NCETA, The Alcohol and Other Drugs Knowledge Centre aims to improve the health of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
