Expertise
A/ProfBonny is Interim Deputy Director at the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy (MUCHE). A/Prof Parkinson’s Expertise is in the field of health economics, especially regarding economic evaluation methodology, cancer, and precision medicine. She has conducted or supervised economic evaluations of many healthcare interventions, including targeted medicines, diagnostics, and digital technologies. She currently leads the health technology assessment stream, and has been involved in over 60 evaluations of submissions to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC), 6 evaluations of submissions to the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) and the National Diabetes Subsidy Scheme (NDSS) since 2009. To date, she has been the recipient of career research funding of over $27.0 million spread over 26 grants and has 39 peer-reviewed journal articles. She is/was a member of several committees, including: the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) Special Interest Group for Health Economists (2021); the NSW Cancer Council’s Pathways Scientific Advisory Committee on Colorectal Cancer and Lynch Syndrome (2018 -); and the Ezetimibe Review Reference Group for the Australian Government Department of Health (2016-2017). She is currently on the editorial board of Pharmacoeconomics, and is an associate editor of Oxford Open Economics.
