Full-Time MBA Scholarships

AGSM Full-Time MBA Scholarships provide support for exceptional students from diverse backgrounds to gain a world-class MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of New South Wales Business School, in Sydney Australia.

Co-funded by AGSM @ UNSW Business School and Luminis Foundation, The Luminis AGSM Wharton Business Innovation Scholarship provides an exceptional pathway for outstanding leaders to forge a remarkable career in business.

The scholarship will cover the cost to complete the AGSM Full-Time MBA program, consisting of four terms. The first two terms will be completed at AGSM and the third term at Wharton (on student exchange). The final term will consist of an internship/ work placement in the US.

Selection Process and How to Apply

You will be eligible to apply for this scholarship once you have submitted your application for the Full-Time MBA program. Please refer to the UNSW Scholarship Page for the selection process and application details.

Selection Criteria

This scholarship is for outstanding MBA candidates who have a record of implementing innovative strategies within business. In addition to meeting the AGSM MBA Admissions Requirements, scholarship applicants will be further assessed on the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated record of business innovation and leadership
  • Outstanding academic achievement in previous studies
  • Ambassadorial qualities and potential contribution to the Australian business community

Value and Funding

  • Full tuition fee waiver plus an additional stipend of up to a maximum of $41,750AUD for an exchange to the US
  • International exchange program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
  • Will complete a United States based internship/ work placement and will be provided with career services by Wharton for the period of their exchange.*

*Internship component is subject to US visa requirements and must be arranged by the student with assistance from Wharton’s career services. If the student is unable to undertake an internship in the US, they will return to AGSM to complete the remaining 4th term.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to Australian citizens or Permanent Residents who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program and submit an application for consideration.

There is one recipient per year for this scholarship.

The AGSM Global Reach Scholarship gives exceptional students from diverse international backgrounds access to AGSM’s Full-Time MBA program located in Sydney.

Candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship once they have submitted an application for the Full-Time MBA program.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit (determined by GMAT test score)
  • Leadership potential (determined by admissions interview)
  • Career progression (determined by CV and references)
  • Global citizenship (determined by CV and admissions interview)

Value and Funding

The following tuition fee waiver scholarships are available:

  • Minimum of one full tuition fee waiver for the top candidates who demonstrate outstanding achievement in all four-selection criterion
  • Minimum of one 75% tuition fee waiver for candidates who demonstrate outstanding achievement in three of the selection criterion
  • Minimum of two half tuition fee waivers for candidates who demonstrate outstanding achievement in two of the selection criterion
  • Minimum of two quarter tuition fee waivers for candidates who demonstrate outstanding achievement in one of the selection criterion

Eligibility

These scholarships are open to international MBA candidates who have received an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

Minimum of six scholarships available, with one recipient per country. These scholarships may be awarded in any admissions round.

Full and partial tuition fee waivers are available for eligible candidates.

The AGSM Military Scholarship gives members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) a pathway to complete a world-class business education as they progress in their military career or wish to transition out of the military and into another career.

Selection Process and How to Apply

Candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship once they have submitted an application for the Full-Time MBA program.

Selection Criteria

This scholarship is open to applicants who are current or ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with a minimum of five consecutive years of service.

Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit (determined by academic transcript)
  • Leadership potential (determined by admission interview)
  • Career progression (determined by CV and references)

Value and Funding

One full tuition fee waiver is available for the top candidate who demonstrates outstanding achievement in all selection criterion for the Full-Time MBA program.

This scholarship is open to all applicants who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

AGSM partners with the Wandering Warriors organisation to offer scholarships to members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) who are transitioning to civilian life and wish to complete the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

Selection Criteria

This scholarship is open to applicants who are current or ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) who are nominated by the Wandering Warriors Education Committee.

Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Leadership potential (determined by admission interview)
  • Career progression (determined by CV and references)

Value and Funding

Up to two full tuition fee waivers or cash stipends are available for candidates who demonstrate outstanding achievement in all selection criterion for the Full-Time MBA program.

Partial fee waivers are also available for candidates who meet some, but not all, of the selection criterion.

These decisions are made at the discretion of the Selection Committee based on the Wandering Warriors Education Committee’s recommendations.

The AGSM Excellence Scholarship will give MBA candidates who have a proven track record of academic and professional excellence an opportunity to participate in AGSM’s Full-Time MBA program.

LGBTI Leadership Award – candidates are invited to self-nominate for this scholarship once they have received an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program. There will also be a call for nominations at the end of each admissions round.

Sport Leadership Award - candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship after they have received an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

Military Leadership Award - candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship after they have received an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

Entrepreneurial Leadership Award – candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship after they have received an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

Community Leadership Award - candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship after they have received an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

This scholarship is open to candidates who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and professional success, and who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

Minimum of five scholarships are available per year in the following categories:*

*AGSM reserves the right not to award a scholarship in each category, where no outstanding leader has received an offer.

The AGSM Emerging Female Leaders Scholarship will enable high potential female leaders to complete a world-class MBA.

The AGSM Women in Leadership Scholarship will enable outstanding female leaders to complete a world-class MBA.

This scholarship is open to women who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.

Minimum of two scholarships are available per year.

The AGSM Indigenous Leaders Scholarship is designed to provide support to an Australian Indigenous a student who has received an acceptance into an eligible AGSM Postgraduate program.

Selection Process and How to Apply:

Candidates will be eligible to apply for this scholarship once they have submitted an application for one of the AGSM MBA programs or the AGSM MMGT course. Please refer to the UNSW Scholarship Page for selection process and application details.

Value and Funding

The AGSM Indigenous Leaders Scholarship is designed to provide support to an Australian Indigenous a student who has already commenced their studies in an eligible AGSM Postgraduate program.

Candidates will be eligible to apply for this scholarship if they are an Australian Indigenous Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander who is a current student within either an AGSM MBA program or the AGSM MMGT course. The Joseph Barling Fellowship was established in recognition of the gift from the Estate of the late Joseph Somers Barling. This Scholarship is aimed at improving the standing and promoting the image of graduate engineers by encouraging UNSW Engineering graduates to undertake full-time postgraduate study in a program related to business, or public administration at UNSW.

Selection Process and How to Apply

You will be eligible to apply for this scholarship once you have submitted your application for any of the qualifying programs. Please refer to the UNSW Scholarship Page for selection process and application details.

Selection Criteria

In addition to meeting the respective program's Admissions Requirements, scholarship applicants will be further assessed on the following criteria:

  • Outstanding academic achievement in previous studies
  • Potential to improve the standing and promote the image of graduate engineers
  • Ambassadorial qualities and potential contribution to the UNSW community

Value and Funding

This scholarship will have a value of $30,000 to be paid as a tuition fee waiver or as a per annum stipend for PhD candidates.

Funded by Joseph Barling Fellowship.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to UNSW Engineering graduates (preference given to Electrical Engineering graduates) who apply and gain admission to one of the following programs:

  • AGSM MBA
  • Master of Technology Management (MTM);
  • Master of Engineering Science (MEngSc) or Master of Engineering Science (Ext) in Engineering and Technical Management
  • Manufacturing Engineering & Management
  • Master of Engineering or PhD by Research in Manufacturing Engineering & Management

One recipient will be awarded this scholarship per year.

The AGSM MBA Accommodation Bursary provides high achieving candidates living outside Sydney, Australia an opportunity to study the AGSM Full-Time MBA located in Sydney.

Selection Process and How to Apply

Candidates will be automatically considered for this bursary once they have submitted their application for the Full-Time MBA program. The bursary will be paid fortnightly as a living allowance.

Applicants who receive a full scholarship are ineligible to receive this bursary.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit (GMAT or other academic results)
  • Leadership achievements (determined by admissions interview)
  • Career progression (determined by CV and references)

Value and Funding

Accommodation Bursaries are valued up to $20,000 and are payable as a fortnightly stipend after the census dates of the first two sessions. Each Bursary aims to assist with the cost of accommodation on or close to the Kensington campus, and within the Sydney metropolitan area.
