This project investigates how residential energy upgrades influence property values and market behaviour. We are assessing the monetary effect of improvements such as insulation, efficient heating and cooling, and solar installations, and how energy ratings and disclosure requirements shape buyer decisions and price signals. The work will provide an evidence base that can guide policy on sustainable housing, consumer protection, and incentive design.

The expected outcome of this project is a comprehensive analysis and report that quantifies the relationship between energy performance and house prices, offering clear policy insights. The final report is due in March 2026.
