Cannabis use, risks and potential: Evidence on a moving target
Cannabis use, risks and potential: Evidence on a moving target
Cannabis is a ubiquitous, hotly debated and increasingly decriminalised substance worldwide. Meanwhile, the evidence on the risks and benefits of contemporary cannabis use is still emerging. This presentation provides an overview of the research to date on cannabis related risks and potential, with a focus on neurobiology and new international developments on cannabis metrics.
Professor Valentina Lorenzetti is the Deputy Director of the Healthy Brain and Mind Research Centre and leads its Neuroscience of Addiction and Mental Health Program at Australian Catholic University. She believes that everyone affected by addiction deserves the opportunity for better life outcomes. Her research aims to identify the core mechanisms of addiction and target them using novel interventions through advanced multimodal MRI, global multi-site studies, and international consensus on new metrics.
