About this webinar:

It has been established that members of the LGBTQ+ community have a unique relationship to alcohol and other drugs, and experience higher rates of substance dependence and drug-related harms. Research shows that perceived community connection is one of the key moderating factors when it comes to substance use with this cohort, but the understanding of how this relationship functions is somewhat limited. This webinar presents a set of findings from a qualitative study on alcohol use and perceptions of risky alcohol consumption to explore how community engagement and the pursuit for community connection influenced the personal relationship LGBTQ+ individuals have towards alcohol.
