Adolescents and emerging adults are priority populations for alcohol and other drugs (AOD) treatment, with peak onset of substance use disorders occurring during these developmental stages. This presentation outlines a series of studies aimed at exploring young people’s engagement and experiences in AOD treatment, including national treatment trends, rates, and correlates of treatment completion, as well as satisfaction with services.

About the speaker:

Megan Wells is a PhD student at the University of Wollongong and a clinical psychology registrar. Megan’s research focuses AOD treatment for adolescents and emerging adults, with a focus on examining the youth-friendliness of AOD treatment and enhancing services’ responsivity to young people’s needs.
