Hallucinogens are a range of substances, sometimes called psychedelics. They're characterised by altered levels of consciousness and, as the name would suggest, hallucinations, visual or auditory, or pseudo hallucinations. The colloquial term used for many of these experiences is "tripping". In this lecture, we look at the major hallucinogen types before examining their effects.
