About this webinar:

Zero-alcohol drinks - drinks that contain no or very low amounts of alcohol but resemble and often share brands with their alcoholic counterparts - may be useful alternatives for people looking to reduce their alcohol consumption. However, concerns have been raised that, for adolescents, zero-alcohol drinks may serve to increase interest in alcohol. This seminar provides an overview of NCETA’s research on parents’ perspectives and practices regarding zero-alcohol drinks and adolescents. It presents findings from semi-structured interviews and a cross-sectional survey of Australian parents of adolescents aged 12-17 years. It outlines future research plans to examine whether zero-alcohol drinks and associated advertising influence adolescents’ attitudes toward alcohol.
