AvSoc International Study Abroad Program
Members of UNSW Aviation Society (AvSoc ) travelled to Dubai as a part of the annual Aviation International Study Abroad Program (AISAP), designed to offer invaluable insights and networking opportunities in the global aviation and tourism industry.
In August 2023, 20 members of UNSW’s Aviation Society (AvSoc )travelled to Dubai as a part of the annual Aviation International Study Abroad Program (AISAP), designed to offer invaluable insights and networking opportunities in the global aviation and tourism industry. Across a week of educational and professional development, 20 members toured the Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA), Dubai Airport and Dnata’s airport operations teams, exploring how each of these stakeholders contribute to Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub. Throughout these tours, members were able to gain an exclusive behind the scenes look into the way these organisations contribute to Dubai’s aviation industry and how their systems continue to innovate, grow and develop the many facets of the aviation industry worldwide. From flight training, airport operations and customer experiences, these tours were a fantastic opportunity to enrich our student knowledge in their university studies and provided a unique insight into the aviation industry outside of Australia.
AvSoc members were also offered an opportunity to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of the UAE. They visited Dubai’s must-see sights including the Burj Khalifa, the Souks and the Dubai Mall as well as a desert safari amidst a beautiful sunset.
This year’s AISAP was a rewarding and enriching experience to all the attending members. We extend our thanks to all who participated and we look forward to new adventures and opportunities to nurture students’ passion for aviation as the AvSoc 2024 team takeover.
