PACDEFF 2025 showcases UNSW Aviation Researchers
There was substantial representation of UNSW Aviation researchers at the Pacific and Australasian CRM Developers’ and Facilitators’ Forum (PACDEFF) 2025, held on 16th and 17th September in Sydney.
PACDEFF is the largest Crew Resource Management, Non-Technical Skills and Aviation Human Factors Conference of its type in the world, created as an opportunity for Human Factors practitioners to meet and discuss contemporary issues in the Human Factors field, with an emphasis on airline training.
UNSW Aviation had multiple presentations showcasing our research expertise:
- Prof Brett Molesworth presented on Redesigning Flight Training to Improve Trainees’ Performance (with Tsz Chui and Man Fung Cheung) and Assessing Safety-Related Situational Assessment Amongst Pilots (with Prof Mark Wiggins, Jaime C. Auton, Ben Morrison and Dr. Daniel Sturman).
- Yassmin Ebrahim shared insights on Predicting Pilots’ Risk Propensity in a Low-Risk Flight.
- Yan Yan presented A Human-Centric Approach to Understanding Runway Incursions (with Prof Brett Molesworth and A/Prof Soufiane Boufous).
It was also great to see strong industry interest in our postgraduate programs throughout the event.
