Entry requirements for the Master of Cyber Security

To gain entry into a Master of Cyber Security (8628), you must meet one of the following entry requirements: 

  1. Completion of a Bachelor degree with honours in the same or a related discipline* from a recognised institution; or 
  2. Completion of a Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate in the same or a related discipline* from a recognised institution; or 
  3. Completion of a Bachelor degree in the same or a related discipline* from a recognised institution; and completion of at least three years relevant full-time professional experience 

*Related discipline/s: Information Technology, Information Systems, Science, Computer Science or Engineering. 

English language requirements

You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at UNSW Bengaluru depending on whether you are from an English-speaking background or non-English speaking background. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why UNSW Bengaluru requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.

If English is not your first language, you’ll need to provide proof of your English proficiency before you can be given an offer to study at UNSW Bengaluru. You can do this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria: 

  • English language tests and university English courses 
  • Prior study in the medium of English 
  • Other qualifications

What will I study in the Master of Cyber Security?

Program structure

The Master of Cyber Security program at UNSW Bengaluru is delivered by the School of Systems and Computing. Students will complete 48 Units of Credit (UOC), including four core courses and two elective courses.

This blend of technical and practical learning ensures you develop in-depth knowledge across information systems, network security and cyber defence, preparing you for real-world challenges.

Full program structure

This program contains a total of 48 units of credit (UOC) and can be completed in one year of full-time study.

How to apply

To apply to study at UNSW Bengaluru, you must be a Resident Indian Citizen, Non‑Resident Indian or an Overseas Citizen of India. You’ll also need to meet the minimum academic and English language requirements for your chosen degree. Applications open in March 2026. You can apply at one of our in‑country events or online through the UNSW Bengaluru website. Applications and offers are prioritised according to academic merit and subject to program availability. You'll receive an outcome by email once the assessment is complete.

This program is delivered by UNSW Bengaluru Private Limited. UNSW Bengaluru Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between UNSW & Emeritus.

The indicative fees listed here is an estimate for tuition only and excludes non-tuition fees and charges. The amount you pay will vary depending on the calendar year of enrolment, the courses you select and whether your study load is more or less than 1 Equivalent Full Time Student Load (48 units of credit (UOC) per year). 

You should not rely on indicative fees as fee increases are assessed when required and may exceed the indicative figures listed here. Actual fees are calculated on enrolment.

Scholarships

All Resident Indian Citizens automatically receive a tuition fee award of up to 10%, which is incorporated into the published fee rates. We also offer UNSW Bengaluru equity scholarships to support commencing undergraduate and postgraduate students experiencing financial hardship, helping them access a world-class education at UNSW Bengaluru.

UNSW Bengaluru offers two types of equity scholarships. You must be a Resident Indian Citizen to apply. Applications open in March 2026.

  • UNSW Bengaluru Future Leaders Access Scholarship: A full tuition scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees for the full duration of the program. These are highly competitive and awarded to a small number of students.
  • UNSW Bengaluru Progress Scholarship: A 35% reduction on tuition fees for the full duration of the program.
