What will I study in the Bachelor of Data Science and Decisions?

Studying data science at UNSW Bengaluru will enable you to acquire practical skills to organise, model and analyse large and complex data for businesses, governments or other organisations. You’ll have a working knowledge of scientific criteria and methods of investigation, and a concern for objectivity and precision.  

Through a cross disciplinary set of courses, you’ll develop skills in essential programming languages, problem-solving, processing, interpreting and presenting data, using qualitative and quantitative techniques. 

You’ll graduate with specialist skills in mathematics, statistics and computer science and the confidence to uncover the hidden data insights and tell stories with data.

The Bachelor of Data Science and Decisions at UNSW Bengaluru is a three-year full-time undergraduate degree that contains a total of 144 units of credit (UOC).

Computational Data Science investigates statistics, computer science, mathematics and machine learning to identify trends and make predictions based on large data sets.

How to apply for the Bachelor of Data Science and Decisions?

To apply to study at UNSW Bengaluru, you must be a Resident Indian Citizen, Non‑Resident Indian or an Overseas Citizen of India. You’ll also need to meet the minimum academic and English language requirements for your chosen degree. Applications open in March 2026. You can apply at one of our in‑country events or online through the UNSW Bengaluru website. Applications and offers are prioritised according to academic merit and subject to program availability. You'll receive an outcome by email once the assessment is complete.

This program is delivered by UNSW Bengaluru Private Limited. UNSW Bengaluru Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between UNSW & Emeritus.

Scholarships

All Resident Indian Citizens automatically receive a tuition fee award of up to 10%, which is incorporated into the published fee rates. We also offer UNSW Bengaluru equity scholarships to support commencing undergraduate and postgraduate students experiencing financial hardship, helping them access a world-class education at UNSW Bengaluru.

UNSW Bengaluru offers two types of equity scholarships. You must be a Resident Indian Citizen to apply. Applications open in March 2026.

  • UNSW Bengaluru Future Leaders Access Scholarship: A full tuition scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees for the full duration of the program. These are highly competitive and awarded to a small number of students.
  • UNSW Bengaluru Progress Scholarship: A 35% reduction on tuition fees for the full duration of the program.
