Part-Time MBA Scholarships

AGSM Part-Time MBA Scholarships provide support for eligible students from diverse backgrounds to gain a world-class education at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) in Sydney.

The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) offer a scholarship to AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) students who can demonstrate ongoing commitment, engagement and leadership in supporting, developing and contributing to better social outcomes in business. These areas can include the public and/or social purpose sectors in the past or as part of a future career path.

Selection Process and How to Apply

Interested candidates are required to submit an application online through UNSW Scholarships website to be considered for this scholarship. There are up to three scholarships per-year on offer to eligible candidates.

Selection Criteria

In addition to meeting the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program admission requirements, applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit
  • Demonstrated commitment to undertaking further study

Value and Funding

Two scholarships will be awarded each year. The following scholarships are available:

  • One CSI AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) Scholarship will be awarded to the value of $25,000 to assist with tuition fees
  • Two CSI AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) Scholarships will be awarded to the value of $12,500 to assist with tuition fees

These decisions are made at the discretion of the Selection Committee.

Eligibility

These scholarships are open to all applicants who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program and are working in a registered social purpose or social enterprise organisation.

Student who transition from the GCSI program to the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program with at least three Social Impact courses remaining, are eligible to apply for a scholarship to the value of $12,500.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents.

The AGSM Alumni Community Leader Scholarship is open to eligible candidates applying for either the AGSM MBA (Executive) or the AGSM MBAX program and will cover the full tuition fees for the program, including EAY residential costs.

The opportunity to access an executive course with the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is also available to the recipient of this scholarship.

Selection Process and How to Apply

The AGSM Alumni Community Leader Scholarship is open to talented emerging leaders and managers currently working in the not-for-profit sector who can demonstrate a history of academic or work achievement and strong community connectivity in their scholarship application.

Candidates will need to apply for this scholarship via the UNSW scholarships portal and the finalist for this scholarship will need to be available to attend a formal Interview.

Selection Criteria

This scholarship is for candidates in the not-for-profit sector located in Australia. Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit
  • Demonstrated commitment and evidence of long-term contribution to supporting disadvantaged individuals and/or communities
  • Demonstrated management or leadership qualities
  • Reasons for undertaking the proposed course of study
  • Potential to contribute to the AGSM MBA program and the UNSW Business School community

Value and Funding

The scholarship covers all tuition fees costs, plus residential costs associated with the AGSM MBA (Executive) and MBAX programs.

The successful recipient will also the opportunity to undertake one postgraduate course in the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) during their program.

The successful applicant will be decided at the discretion of the Selection Committee.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to all applicants who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM (Executive) or AGSM MBAX program. Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Applicants must not be a recipient of any other funding, or any other form of financial support connected with study, from their organisation or another company.

Strong consideration will be given to applicants who are employed by a recognised not-for-profit community-based organisation, which provides services to disadvantaged individuals and/or communities.

Funded by Emeritus Professor Richard Henry AM and Dr Rachel Oberon, this scholarship is designed to provide to support an Australian Indigenous or Torres Strait Islander student who has received an acceptance into the AGSM MBA (Social Impact) program.

Selection Process and How to Apply

Candidates are eligible to apply for this scholarship once they have submitted an application for the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program. Please refer to the UNSW Scholarship Page for selection process and application details.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit
  • Possess an aptitude and commitment to supporting, developing and contributing to better social outcomes in the business, public and/or social purpose sectors
  • Ability to demonstrate continual leadership and engagement within their community.

Value and Funding

One recipient per year will be awarded this scholarship and will receive a value of up to $60,000 to be paid against the tuition fees for the duration of the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program. This program is to be completed between two to six years.

This decision will be made at the discretion of the Selection Committee.

Eligibility

These scholarships are open to all Australian Indigenous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program.

The Belgiorno-Nettis Scholarship will provide an opportunity for outstanding MBA candidate who otherwise may not be able to access an MBA at AGSM @ UNSW Business School.

Selection Process and How to Apply

Candidates will be eligible to apply for this scholarship once they have submitted an application for one of the AGSM Part-Time MBA programs or are a continuing student in an eligible program.

UNSW Scholarships will allocate the Award to those students identified to be in the greatest need based on the data provided by UAC.

Interested candidates are required to submit an UAC Equity Scholarship (ES) application.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be considered based on their UAC Equity Scholarship.

To be eligible, applicants must be commencing or currently enrolled in an eligible AGSM MBA program

Value and Funding

One full scholarship to the value of $40,000 and will be tenable for the minimum duration of an eligible degree program.

This Scholarship may be used towards tuition fees, living expenses, residential fees or other costs associated with study.

This scholarship will be allocated based on need identified through their UAC equity scholarship applications

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to all domestic Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents (including Humanitarian Visa Holders) and/or New Zealand Citizen.

The successful candidate must be commencing postgraduate coursework study or has receive an offer of admission to one of the following AGSM @ UNSW Business School programs:

  • AGSM MBA (Executive)
  • AGSM MBAX

There is one recipient per year for this scholarship.
