AGSM International Study Options

The wide variety of international offerings available is reflected in the depth of our incoming and outgoing exchange programs with leading schools from Asia, Canada, Europe, UK and the USA. We currently have exchange partnerships with over 30 elite international business schools.

AGSM @ UNSW Business School is a proud member of both the PIM and GNAM international networks.

Partnership in International Management (PIM) is an international consortium of business schools from around the world which provides a framework for international cooperation primarily at the graduate level. This network of 65 leading business schools provides AGSM students the opportunity for a variety of short and long term exchange opportunities across a number of schools.

Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) is a powerful platform created by 30 of the world’s leading business schools. As the only Australian university in the network, this provides a number of international opportunities for AGSM students, including the exclusive chance to apply for participation in Global Network Weeks and Global Network Courses around the world.

AGSM’s traditional exchange program allows students in the MBA Full-time to undertake a component of their requirements with an International Exchange partner by joining a partner school for a full term of electives. These exchanges are for students looking to gain an international perspective and develop a well-rounded educational experience as part of their MBA experience. Students in Stage 1 of the MBA (Executive), and the MBAX (Online) program may also be able to undertake Traditional Exchange, however, differing conditions and requirements apply.

Global Network Weeks

You may apply to take a course during the Global Network Week (GNW) and receive 6UOC from AGSM in lieu of taking one elective course at AGSM. This short-term exchange opportunity is for students looking to gain an international perspective at another network school in a focused mini course that leverages the perspectives, programs, and faculty expertise of that school. Classes are conducted in an intensive mode over 5 days which is ideal for students with a busy work schedule. Please visit Global Network for more information about course offerings and timings.

Global Network Courses - Small Network Online Courses (SNOCs)

SNOCs are fully online courses available for MBA students via the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM). Eligible SNOC courses and the application process will be advertised in the Online Student Community and AGSM newsletter. Please visit Global Network for more information about course offerings and timings.

Eligibility and How to Apply

To be eligible to apply, students must have successfully completed a minimum of two AGSM courses with a WAM of 65% or above at time of application, and have an elective (6uoc) available in their program (ask Student Experience if you’re not sure). There is a limit to how many GNW and SNOCs you will be able to do in your Program, please contact us for more information.

Spaces are limited for AGSM students and the applications process is competitive and based mainly on WAM. Application dates and links will be advertised in the Online Student Community & AGSM newsletters.

Note: Tuition fees are payable to AGSM at the current course rate and can be deferred to Fee-Help if eligible. Successfully completed international offerings will be credited as Credit Transfer and therefore will not impact your WAM (weighted average mark)

Our relationship with many of the world’s leading business schools is testimony to our standing in the international community and this is reflected in the depth of the exchange program.

Each year we welcome approximately 30 incoming exchange students from our business school partners around the world. Please note that if you would like to study with us on exchange, the first step is for your home institution to officially nominate you for the exchange program.

The full-time AGSM MBA program is delivered at the University of New South Wales' Sydney campus on the east coast of Australia. The campus itself is in a great location, close to the heart of the business district and to the surf beaches that have made Sydney famous.
