Overview
The MBA (Executive) at UNSW is an immersive part-time program delivered by the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). Led by globally-renowned academics and industry experts, the program is designed for current and aspiring leaders who wish to progress into C-suite and senior leadership roles.
Over two to six years, you’ll build the necessary contemporary business knowledge and skills to succeed in a rapidly changing environment, with the flexibility to choose electives tailored to your specific needs and interests. This includes the opportunity to participate in AGSM’s international offerings, such as short-term and long-term overseas exchanges.
The MBA (Executive) is designed to fit around your professional life – you can complete your studies online or through a combination of online and face-to-face learning. Entry requirements
You will need to have:
- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline plus at least 5 years' relevant professional experience
or
- For students without a previous degree, at least 5 years' relevant professional experience plus a minimum of 5 years' managerial experience with accountability for outcomes, projects and people. Your CV will need to effectively demonstrate this.
Please note that 5 years of post-graduate work experience is an absolute minimum requirement for entry. Most of our MBA (Executive) students have on average around 11 years of work experience.
English language requirements
If English isn’t your first language, you may be required to provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements. Please refer to the UNSW English Requirements Policy for further information.
If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- English language tests and university English courses
- Prior study in the medium of English
- Other qualifications
Please note: You can apply for an English waiver based on directly relevant work experience, in the relevant industry or equivalent discipline practice, in an English-speaking country or workplace where the sole language of business was English.

The MBA (Executive) program is not open to international students except holders of an Australian temporary visa (other than a student visa) that has full study entitlement.
International entry requirements
You will need to have:
- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline plus at least 5 years' relevant professional experience
or

What will I study?
Program structure
The AGSM MBA (Executive) is a part-time MBA designed for experienced working professionals eager to take their career to the next level. It can be completed anywhere between two and six years. You’ll study compulsory courses in leadership and strategy, core courses in accounting, finance, data analytics, economics and management, and executive courses. You can also choose three elective courses to tailor your studies to your specific interests and career goals.
Full program structure
The AGSM MBA (Executive) is a part-time program that can be completed anywhere between 2 and 6 years. Students must complete 72 units of credit (UOC) when taken as a standalone program. Students must complete:
