Instruction steps and images may vary slightly depending on the device version/type. You can check if your device type and operating system supports the Clearpass Onboard Requirements here.

Step 1

Establish an internet connection

If you are connecting on campus, connect to the “UNSW-GetOnline” Wi-Fi network. Note: Once your device is onboarded, you will need to forget the “UNSW-GetOnline” Wi-Fi network to automatically connect to eduroam when on UNSW campuses.

If you are connecting off campus, ensure that you have a reliable connection to download and install the Wi-Fi certificate.

Step 2

Select your device operating system

Visit the Get Online webpage Get online | UNSW Sydney.

Scroll down and select the Mac tile.

Step 3

Getting to the onboard portal

Select Get online.

Make sure to read the Terms and Conditions carefully. Select I agree, then select Next.

Then select your device type – UNSW managed or non-UNSW managed.

Type in your UNSW credentials and complete MFA when prompted.

Step 4

Download the certificate

On the UNSW Onboard Page, select Install Profile

In the downloads folder, select the downloaded profile to open the profile. You will then get a profile installation prompt.

Select OK the pop-up that will ask you to review the profile in System settings.

Step 5

Navigating system settings to install the certificate

In the settings search bar, search and select Profiles.

Select Install, view or remove configuration profiles.

Select UNSW eduroam enrolment.

Step 6

Installing the certificate

Select Install… to confirm installation of the profile.

Enter your passcode if prompted and select OK

Select Install to install the profile “UNSW eduroam enrolment”.

Once the installation is complete, select eduroam in your Wi-Fi settings.

You will now be securely connected to the eduroam Wi-Fi network every time you are at participating institutions.
