Shoufay Derz completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts at UNSW Art & Design.
Shoufay is a multi-disciplinary artist who traverses the globe exploring nature, spirituality, and creative expression. Her travels have taken her from the Ladakh desert, stretching between north India and Tibet, to the Ambrym volcano located in the archipelago of Vanuatu. As a result of every journey, she’s made art “not to uncover mystery… but rather to rediscover wonder”.
Shoufay is the 52nd winner of the Blake Prize and was selected to present her video works as part of the 2016 Sydney Film Festival in the Sydney Contemporary Video Art Exhibition at Sydney’s Town Hall.
