Associate Professor Belinda Parmenter
Head of UNSW Medicine & Health Lifestyle Clinic

A/Prof Belinda Parmenter is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with over 25 years of experience in developing, prescribing and delivering exercise programs for persons with cardiovascular disease. She is passionate about finding ways to make exercise easier to do, and to help people become more physically active throughout their day. Her research focuses on prevention of cardiovascular disease across the lifespan, but she also has a specialty in researching interventions for those with heart or peripheral artery disease.

Alexandra Smith
Practice Manager

Having completed her studies at UNSW, Alex has been practicing as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) for over a decade, in addition to managing a private EP clinic for several years. Through her work in private practice, Alex has furthered her knowledge and experience in assisting with the management of a wide variety of chronic conditions and strives to equip individuals with the knowledge to lead active and healthy lifestyles. During her time as practice manager, she has nurtured a passion for optimising the function and culture of the clinic to better serve clients, students and staff alike.

Elise Helfensdorfer

Elise is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who has worked in a diverse range of environments gaining exposure to an array of chronic diseases and conditions. Her skills and knowledge have developed through her experiences working with a variety of clientele including post-operative rehabilitation, musculoskeletal conditions, metabolic diseases and neurological conditions – including Parkinson’s disease. Elise is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of others through behavioural change, education, and exercise prescriptions. She thrives on motivating her clients and helping them reach their goals.

Kelly McLeod

Associate Lecturer (Conjoint) - Exercise Physiology, UNSW
PhD Candidate 

Kelly is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and oversees a large portfolio of clients with health and medical issues. She brings a wealth of experience in exercise therapy ranging from post-operative hip and knee replacements, spinal surgery, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, falls prevention, diabetes, and cardiac and respiratory rehabilitation programs. Kelly is also the coordinator for the Lifestyle Diabetes Clinic, a program on which she is completing her PhD. Kelly has been with the Clinic for more than 10 years and is continually praised by clients for her motivation and enthusiasm to help people improve their quality of life.

Adrian Ram
PhD Candidate, Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Adrian is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with expertise in chronic pain conditions including post-surgical pain, musculoskeletal pain and injury, widespread pain, and chronic disease. He takes a particular interest in treatment and management of chronic pain conditions and exercise prescription which adheres to a bio-psychosocial treatment approach.

Boris Bojanovic
Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) - Exercise Physiology, UNSW

Boris is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with over a decade of clinical, non-clinical and teaching experience. He has a broad range of experience across cardiac rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, mental health, arthritis and metabolic disease. Boris aims to empower people to take charge of their health and get the most out of their lives.

Alexandra Armstrong-Whitfield

Alexandra has worked in health and wellbeing for just under 10 years as a personal trainer, and more recently, an Exercise Physiologist. She has an interest in helping improve musculoskeletal and cardiometabolic health outcomes.
