The Making Centre
The Art & Design campus has a wide range specialised workshops, studios, and production facilities, which are managed by the Making Centre. These include The Resource Centre (Photography, Moving Image, Sound, VFX), Toolroom (Wood, Metal), Makerspace (digital fabrication), Hackspace (creative coding, physical computing, VR), Ceramics Studio, Jewellery Studio, Screen Printing and Printmaking Studios, and Textiles Studio. These state-of-the-art facilities are supported by a dedicated team of specialist technicians.

The Fashion Studio is equipped with a range of industry standard equipment where students learn the fundamentals of designing, draping, and making clothing.

Hackspace is a flexible, technology-focused space where students can experiment, prototype and access support in the areas of creative coding, physical computing, electronics, and VR.

The Makerspace is the home of all Digital Fabrication with a range of 3D Printing, 3D Scanning, Laser Cutting & Engraving, Photographic Printing and CNC Routing available.

The Resource Centre is home to a diverse range of photography, film, video and sound recording equipment available to UNSW School of Art & Design students.

Our Textiles Studio equips students with an extensive suite of modern domestic and industrial resources suited to a wide variety of textiles design processes.

The Toolroom is the go-to spot for all your wood and metal projects, with an extensive array of up-to-date machinery and every hand tool you could imagine.
