Jacqueline Jacky, That Place They Had, 2022, screen-print, watercolour monotype, calico, string, keen’s curry, turmeric.

Content warning – this contains names, and images of deceased Aboriginal people. The topic of colonialism, and racism. Is explored throughout this work.

This piece of work was produced and made on Gadigal Land, I would like to acknowledge the First Nations people, past, present and future. My work explores my Aboriginal identity through story telling from my mother, Vicki Rose Winters Green. The use of family archives of the women in my family, helped develop this piece of work. The stories, journeys, and archives highlight how all Aboriginal women stories have beauty and trauma due to white/colonial Australia.
